Shahid Kapoor recently found himself amidst rumours suggesting he had taken a dig at Salman Khan’s attitude during an interview. While promoting his upcoming film Deva, Shahid made remarks about some actors who insist their presence be acknowledged, leading netizens to speculate that his comments were aimed at Salman Khan. However, Shahid has now set the record straight.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shahid dismissed these assumptions, clarifying that he never intended any disrespect toward Salman. “A few people texted me asking about the same thing. I was just talking, I didn’t even think much about it,” Shahid said. He said that he holds Salman in high regard, saying, “If I want to take a dig, it will never be at somebody who is so senior, so established, and someone I respect so much.”
The controversy began during a conversation with Raj Shamani on his YouTube channel, where Shahid described certain superstars who enter a room with an air of self-importance. He remarked, “Aate hain kuchh log aise, ki main aa gaya hun types. Woh dikh jaata hai bro, 30 seconds mein pata chal jaata hai. (Some people walk in like ‘I’m here.’ You can see it within 30 seconds).”
While Shahid’s comments were general, social media users speculated that he was indirectly referring to Salman Khan. The actor’s clarification aims to put the matter to rest, reaffirming his admiration for the Bollywood megastar.
On the professional front, Shahid Kapoor will soon be seen in Deva, where he plays the role of a dedicated police officer. His previous film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, a romantic comedy co-starring Kriti Sanon, received a warm response. Additionally, Shahid is gearing up for a reunion with acclaimed director Vishal Bhardwaj for an upcoming project, raising excitement among fans.
