Singer Udit Narayan is facing a lot of backlash online after a video of him kissing female fans at a live concert went viral. The clips show Narayan performing Tip Tip Barsa Paani when several female fans gathered near the stage for selfies. After the photos, the singer kissed them on the lips, sparking outrage across social media.
Following the video’s release, older footage resurfaced, showing Udit kissing other female celebrities, including singers Alka Yagnik and Shreya Ghoshal. One clip shows Udit kissing Alka on the cheek during an Indian Idol event, leaving her visibly shocked as she quickly steps away. In another, Alka appears uncomfortable as Udit kisses her again at a different event.
At another occasion, Udit kissed Shreya on the cheek after she won the award for Best Female Singer, causing her to make a face before flashing a smile as she accepted the award. Udit also kissed actress Karisma Kapoor, who appeared equally surprised by the unexpected gesture.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Udit Narayan repeated his stance in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. He said, “Have I (ever) done anything to bring shame to myself, my family or my country? Then why would I do something now at this stage of my life when I have achieved it all? There is a deep pure and unbreakable bond between my fans and I. What you saw in the so-called scandalous video was a manifestation of the love between my fans and I. They love me. I love them back even more.”
Udit Narayan made it clear that he felt no embarrassment or regret over the situation. He added, “No, not at all! Why should I be? Do you hear any regret or sorrow in my voice? In fact, I am laughing as I talk to you. It is not something sleazy or secret. It is there in the public domain. My heart is pure. If some people want to see something dirty in my act of pure affection, then I feel sorry for them. I also want to thank them. Because now they’ve made me even more famous than I already was.”
