As several pollsters predicted that the Bharatiya Janata is likely to form a government after 27 years in the national capital giving a setback to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, political parties responded with mixed reactions to exit poll predictions with some embracing the forecasts as a sign of victory, while others dismissing them and calling them speculative and inaccurate.

The saffron camp expressed confidence in the party’s victory stating that the lotus will bloom in Delhi this time, while AAP denied exit poll results and said that AAP’s vote share always comes more than what is shown in the predictions. On the other hand, Congress stated that the party would get more seats than projected as people of Delhi want change and are fed up of AAP.

Lotus Blooming In Delhi: BJP

Soon after the exit poll results were announced, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that the predictions are right and in fact the results are going to be better than exit polls. “BJP is coming to power in Delhi. It is BJP’s homecoming. I thank people of Delhi,” he added.

BJP candidate from New Delhi Assembly Seat Parvesh Verma said,” It is certain that Lotus will bloom on February 8. We will give good governance, clean Yamuna and employment in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal is confident that he is losing.”

Adding, Malviya Nagar Vidhan Sabha Satish Upadhyay said, “‘Jhadu ke tinke bikhar gaye hain aur kamal khil raha hai‘. BJP is coming back with a clear majority. If you look at the history of AAP, their modus operandi is blame game and telling lies.”

AAP Calls Exit Poll Results Not Accurate

Responding to the exit poll results, AAP candidate from Greater Kailash Vidhan Sabha Saurabh Bharadwaj asserted confidence in the party’s win despite predictions and said, “We have fought 3 elections of Delhi and this is the 4th Assembly election we are fighting. In 2013 and 2015, exit polls had shown that we would be defeated and in 2020, in exit polls, it was shown that we would be getting fewer numbers.”

“Similarly, in 2025 also, it is being shown that we will be getting fewer seats. I feel that exit polls have always shown that AAP would be getting fewer votes. BJP always silences common people’s voices so they don’t speak out of fear. AAP’s vote share always comes more than what is shown in the exit polls,” he added.

Congress Claims Better Performance

Looking at the party’s performance of the last two elections in the national capital, the party leaders are confident that the grand old party will increase its seat share in the capital.

Speaking to CNN-News18, Congress leader and candidate from New Delhi constituency Sandeep Dikshit said, “I am assuming the exit polls are correct but the final results will come on February 8. People of Delhi want change, people are fed up of AAP. I won’t be surprised if AAP will loose.”

Exit Polls Predict BJP’s Victory

The Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to make a comeback in the national capital after 25 years, exit polls predicted. The Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal is expected to suffer a major setback this election season as majority of the pollsters are predicting that the saffron camp might plunge back to victory in the capital.

Meanwhile, the Congress party is expected to register victory over two seats in the capital city, as per the predictions.

The predictions came after voters across 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi exercised their franchise to choose their government on Wednesday. Voting started at 7 am and continued till 6 pm.

The national capital witnessed a triangular contest between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress. While the ruling is AAP is eying a third straight term, the saffron camp and the grand old party are aiming for a comeback.
