Karan Arjun is among the most talked about films in Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s careers. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, Karan Arjun established Salman and SRK as action heroes. However, the two actors also had a lot of fun while shooting and would trouble Rakesh Roshan after hours.

In a recent interview with Radio Nasha, Rakesh Roshan recalled how the young actors pulled pranks on set. “Sometimes I would get angry, but I would control myself because they would say whatever. Sometimes they would go out of line while making fun and I would think that I should not become like them. So, I acted like a fatherly figure with them and I tried to make them understand,” he said.

Rakesh recalled how they would shoot guns outside his room and said, “They would be outside my room shooting guns. I would be sleeping at night and I would hear guns going off, bottles flying. When I would ask them ‘What are you doing?’ They would say ‘Aapko disturb kar rahe hain (we are disturbing you)’.”

Shah Rukh Khan recently made an appearance in the docu-series The Roshans and also recalled how he and Salman Khan would trouble Rakesh Roshan on set. He said it was like two young kids troubling their father figure. SRK also shared that he didn’t understand his role and wasn’t fully on board with his character’s storyline in the film. Shah Rukh Khan wasn’t happy with the character he was playing. He wanted to become an action hero and thus asked Rakesh Roshan to give him Ajay Devgn’s role (which was later played by Salman Khan).

However, Shah Rukh Khan later chose to trust Rakesh Roshan’s vision and with Salman Khan on board, the two actors were established as action stars. Karan Arjun completed 30 years since its release last year and was re-released in theatres, drawing fans to witness the chemistry between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan on screen.
