A video showing a group of Indians hiding in the jungles of Panama has surfaced, shedding light on the illegal journey many took in an attempt to reach the United States.
The video, showing men, women, and children camping in a forest clearing, has gone viral, showing the hardships faced by these migrants.
The footage shows people sitting in mud, some wearing rubber boots, and women holding infants in their laps as they set up tents. Others are seen in raincoats as they endure a heavy downpour in the jungle.

The group had made a long and dangerous journey across Central America, with many relying on ‘agents’ to help them reach the US. They crossed through Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala before attempting to enter Mexico, from where they aimed to reach the US border.

Many of those deported had sold their land and property to finance the journey, hoping for a better life in the United States. The deportation of these individuals marks a significant step in the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.
On Wednesday, a US military aircraft carrying 104 illegal Indian immigrants landed in Amritsar, the first such batch of Indians deported by the Donald Trump government as part of a crackdown against illegal immigrants.
The deportees had claimed their hands and legs were cuffed throughout the journey and they were unshackled only after landing at the Amritsar airport.
This mass deportation has sparked political debate in India, with opposition parties using the incident to criticise Prime Minister Modi’s government, especially regarding its efforts to strengthen ties with the United States.
The deportees were from various Indian states, including Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Modi.
