Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Delhi Election Results 2025: BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma emerged as the giant killer in the 2025 Delhi election, defeating former CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi seat.
Verma’s feat assumes significance as this would be first time Kejriwal suffered electoral defeat in assembly elections in the city ever since his party entered into politics. Verma was dropped by the BJP from Lok Sabha election last year despite back to back win in West Delhi seat in 2014 and 2019. Verma defeated Kejriwal by a margin of 4,089 votes in New Delhi.

Speaking to CNN-News18, Verma said there was anti-incumbency against Kejriwal and the people showed faith in the BJP.
“I will work very hard for the development of New Delhi. I will fulfill all the promises made in the manifesto… We heard people’s problem. No work was done by Kejriwal in the past 11 years,” he said.
“Our priority will be to give Rs 2500 to women, create SIT to investigate corruption, Yamuna riverfront, reduce pollution, reduce traffic congestion… we will build such a capital that everyone will be proud of,” he added.
When asked if he will be BJP’s CM face, he said, “MLAs will elect the leader and party leadership will take the final decision.
Who Is Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma?
Parvesh’s father, Sahib Singh Verma, served as the chief minister of Delhi while his uncle was the North Delhi Municipal Corporator mayor.
Parvesh entered into Delhi politics with a victory from Mehrauli seat in 2013 assembly election. He won the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat in 2014 and retained the constituency by a landslide victory in 2019. He had also served as the member of Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament.
