Aamir Khan and Ali Fazal went head-to-head at the pickleball court on Saturday, for a special exhibition match at the World Pickleball League (WPBL). The semi-finals got an exciting twist as the two Bollywood stars hit the court and showcased their athletic side. It was Aamir Khan versus Ali Fazal at the match, and they were joined by two players from the league during the match. A video from their pickleball match has gone viral on social media, and it shows the 3 Idiots co-stars engaging in friendly banter amidst the match.
A video shared by Bollywood Helpline on Instagram shows Ali Fazal and Aamir Khan flaunting their sporty side as they locked horns in a pickleball game. Aamir hilariously tells Ali that he is quite unfit at the moment, and that if the latter doesn’t defeat him today, he will be unable to beat him later. “Dekh, is samay main bohot unfit hu (Look, I am very unfit at the moment),” said Aamir, to which Ali jokingly replied, “Dekh liya. (I’ve seen it).” Aamir further added, “Aur bohot out of practice hu. Aaj agar nahi haraaya, toh tu haraa nahi payega baad mein. Ye chance abhi le le. (And I am very out of practice. If I don’t beat you today, you won’t be able to beat me later. Take this chance now).” A video of their banter has gone viral on social media. Check it out below!
Looks like Aamir Khan and Ali Fazal had a great time playing pickleball. The actors stepped into the world of pickleball with great enthusiasm and this video is proof! The match was held on February 1st at Mumbai’s iconic CCI Brabourne Stadium. Earlier, while speaking about the pickleball game, Aamir Khan told IANS, “Sports, just like cinema, is a great unifier. I am looking forward to the match against my dear friend Ali, and to play alongside some of the world’s best Pickleball players who have already set the courts on fire at the WPBL.”
Meanwhile, Ali Fazal said that he had the privilege of working with Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots, and that it’s a ‘pleasure’ getting an opportunity to play pickleball with him.
On the professional front, Aamir Khan is currently working on his upcoming project ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, which is a sequel to the 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
Ali Fazal is set to star in ‘Rakht Brahmand’, a period fantasy thriller helmed by Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve. Additionally, Ali will be seen in Anurag Basu’s ensemble drama ‘Metro…In Dino’ alongside a star-studded cast, including Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sensharma, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
