Delhi Assembly Elections: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the BJP’s historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, calling it a triumph of good governance and development.

PM Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters to celebrate the party’s resounding victory in the Delhi polls after 27 years and address the party workers. He was joined by other senior party leaders, including Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and others.

“People of Delhi are filled with enthusiasm today. They are also relieved because Delhi is now free of ‘AAP-da’. I had sent a letter to Delhiites in which I urged them to give BJP a chance to serve them in the 21st century and to make Delhi ‘viksit’ (developed) capital of India,” said PM Modi while addressing the party workers at BJP headquarters.

According to the latest data from the Election Commission, the BJP has achieved a resounding victory in the national capital, winning 48 seats. In contrast, the ruling AAP suffered a major setback, securing only 22 seats.

Meanwhile, the Congress failed to open its account in the Delhi polls. The Delhi Legislative Assembly comprises 70 seats, and political parties need to secure at least 36 seats to form a government.

Celebrations erupted outside the BJP headquarters as supporters danced to the rhythm of ‘dhol’ and waved party flags, filling the air with a festive spirit. Holding cutouts of the lotus, the BJP’s election symbol, they smeared each other with saffron-colored powder.
