Blake Lively isn’t letting legal drama shake her. Instead, she’s keeping her focus where it matters most – her family. Despite being in the middle of a high-profile legal battle with Justin Baldoni, the actress is maintaining a sense of calm that surprises even those close to her. According to the insider, Lively is in constant communication with her legal team but refuses to let the situation consume her. “She sees the whole lawsuit drama as a necessary bump, but she’s not letting it take away from her main focus, which is her children,” they add.

“Blake is surprisingly calm and just tries to focus on family life,” a source tells People. The 37-year-old actress filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni, 41, in December, accusing him of inappropriate behaviour behind the scenes of their romantic drama It Ends with Us.

In her complaint, Lively claimed that Baldoni, who not only directed and produced the film but also starred in it, engaged in “disturbing” and “unprofessional” conduct on set, creating a “hostile work environment.” She also alleged that he launched a retaliatory smear campaign aimed at “destroying” her reputation.

As part of her lawsuit, Lively is seeking unspecified damages for “intentional infliction of emotional distress” and “interference” with her businesses, including her Blake Brown haircare brand.

Baldoni, for his part, hit back with a $400 million lawsuit against both Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, accusing them of defamation and extortion. His legal team also took action against The New York Times over an article covering Lively’s claims. Tensions escalated further on Monday, February 3, during a pre-trial conference, where both legal teams debated Lively’s request for a gag order, reports People.

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, who also represents It Ends With Us producers Jamey Heath and Steve Sarowitz, their production company Wayfarer Studios and publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, painted a bleak picture of his client’s situation, saying that Baldoni is emotionally and financially “devastated” by the ongoing lawsuit.

Freedman continued, “Not to sound like a 4-year-old fighting a 4-year-old with ‘they started it,’ but in these kinds of cases, once someone says something, it becomes fact: There’s no way to fight against it.”

In response to the heated back-and-forth, New York Judge Lewis Liman issued an order barring both sides from making public statements that could influence the jury. This decision followed a move by Baldoni’s legal team, who had leaked on-set video footage and launched a website, thelawsuitinfo.com, linking to his legal documents.

Lively’s attorneys, Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, welcomed the ruling, saying they were “pleased” with the judge’s decision.

With tensions running high, both cases are set to go to trial on March 9, 2026.
