Oxford University Admissions Eligibility Criteria
UG Courses
Students must have passed their class 12th examinations with either the CBSE or CISCE (ISC) board. The university does not accept State Board examinations or the NIOS Year XII qualification.
For Indian students, CBSE board students need to achieve grades of A1, A1, A1, A1, and A2, with an A1 in a relevant subject. CISCE board students must have an overall grade of 90 percent, with 95 percent or above in four subjects (including a relevant one) and 85 percent or above in the fifth subject.
PG Courses
If your postgraduate programme requires a ‘strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours’ according to the UK system, you must have a professional bachelor’s degree (4 years) from a recognised institution, with an overall grade of at least 60 percent or 70 percent for degrees awarded by different institutes, or a minimum GPA of 3.3 from 4.0, 5.0 from 7.0, 6.0 from 8.0, or 8.0 from 10.0. Additionally, you must have a bachelor’s degree (3 years) with a final grade of 65 percent for degrees awarded by prestigious institutions or 70 percent for degrees from other institutions.
For postgraduate courses requiring a ‘first-class undergraduate degree with honours’ in the UK system, you must have a professional bachelor’s degree (4 years) from a recognised institution, with an overall grade of at least 65 percent or 75 percent for degrees awarded by different institutes, or a minimum GPA of 3.5 from 4.0, 5.5 from 7.0, 6.5 from 8.0, or 8.5 from 10.0. A bachelor’s degree (3 years) with a final grade of 70 percent from prestigious institutions or 75 percent from other institutions is also required.
Lastly, if you are applying for a postgraduate course at Oxford that requires a “master’s degree” in the UK system, you will need a master’s degree with at least 55 percent for a passing grade in the UK system. To achieve a distinction grade, students must score at least 70 percent in their master’s degree.
Oxford University Fees
The application fees for UG courses are £28.5 (Rs 3,000), while applicants for PG courses will need to pay £75 (Rs 8,000). For MBA courses, the application fee is £150 (Rs 16,100).
Regarding annual fees, the estimated fees for UG courses range from Rs 29.49 Lakh to Rs 47.81 Lakh, while PG courses range from Rs 29 Lakh to Rs 90.54 Lakh.
