BTS star J-Hope has been quite active on TikTok, ever since he joined the platform with his first-ever public account. Besides amassing millions of followers within hours of launching his TikTok handle, J-Hope continues to entertain his fans with several videos, showing him taking up viral challenges, musical collabs and more. But one of his latest videos has landed him in fresh trouble, sparking criticism from a section of internet users. Earlier on February 3, J-Hope shared a popular TikTok trend, featuring himself with Grammy-winning singer Doechii’s Denial Is A River.
This came on the heels of Doechii’s historic win at the 2025 Grammy Awards earlier this week. As soon as the K-pop star shared the song, users called him out with negative comments on social media, with some implying that he was trying to “clout” Doechii following her Grammy win. One of them reshared J-Hope’s TikTok video and remarked, “STOP HARASSING BLACK WOMEN.”
Another added, “He wants clout because he’s flopping.” A user commented, “As an army, he’s so cringe, the humor is so 2015, and he wanted that Doechii clout sb.”
At the same time, the idol’s fans jumped in to defend J-Hope, slamming his haters for the unnecessary reactions. “Kpop isn’t fun anymore, and y’all are out there harassing idols for breathing,” one wrote. Another added, “No, literally, like, xenophobia? Where?? I promise y’all one tweet isn’t going to stop j-hope from tuning into Doechii’s music; it’s literally not that deep.”
On the other hand, a large section of fans felt that the video could be a hint of a possible collaboration between J-Hope and Doechii, while some were convinced that it was a hint for his next album, thanks to his caption on Tiktok that read, “When I breathe, U breathe. D-25.”
A fan commented, “Also look at his caption, why is he counting down D-25 which is exactly Feb 27, Friday, and using Doechii sound on his video I’m sensing a collaboration may be on his album. His album probably has multiple hip-hop collaborations ’cause we already have Don for LV Bag,” while another added, “They have a collab album coming up soon!!!! These are teasers.”
With just random guesses swirling online, it is yet to be seen if the artists actually come together for a musical collaboration. It is worth mentioning that Doechii took home the prize for Best Rap Album at the awards, becoming the third woman in Grammy’s history to win the honour. With this, Doechii even defeated leading rap artists like Eminem, J. Cole and Future, who hold the maximum wins in the particular category.
