A Japan Airlines plane struck a parked Delta Airlines aircraft while taxiing across the tarmac at Seattle-Tacoma Airport in Washington, causing damage to both flights, according to reports.

However, no injuries were reported in the incident, the video of which surfaced on social media.

The accident took place at 10.17 am when the taxiing plane’s wing collided with the tail of the parked Delta aircraft as the Japanese plane passed.

Travellers React To Collision

The travellers posted pictures and videos of the incident on social media, showing the left wing of the Japan Airlines slicing halfway through the Delta Airlines plane’s tail section.

“So, we were sitting on the tarmac at SeaTac and another plane ran into us, just casually sliced into our tail. Very scary,” a passenger wrote on social media.

However, the airport said that the incident caused “minimal impact” on the operations at the airport.

“There are no injuries reported at this time. SEA is working with both airlines to safely deplane passengers and bring them to the terminal,” the airport said in a statement.

The incident comes on the heels of two terrifying aviation mishaps in the US, spiking tensions at the airports and the passengers.

Just a week ago, 67 people were killed after a US military chopper collided with an American Airlines plane mid-air as the latter was attempting to land at the Reagan National Airport in DC.

Merely two days later, an air ambulance carrying six people dropped into a busy street in Philadelphia and exploded – killing all on board and one person on the ground.
