Splitsvilla X5 winner Jashwanth Bopanna has reacted to rumours claiming he was cheating on his former girlfriend, Akriti Negi. Recently, Bopanna slammed social media users claiming he wasn’t loyal in his relationship with Negi. He called the claims “false” and asked people not to jump to any conclusion.
“Just because I’m the only one giving the fans and supporters some clarity doesn’t mean I’m at fault in the relationship, neither am I the only one responsible for the breakup. People are jumping to conclusions, stating that I’ve been unfaithful or that I didn’t give the relationship a chance, but that’s far from the truth. I’d like to put those rumours to rest,” Jashwanth told ETimes.
This comes a day after Jashwanth confirmed his breakup with Akriti. He admitted that it was a difficult decision for both of them and claimed that they decided to part ways because of the change in their equation over some time.
“We decided to part ways because, over time, I felt the balance in our relationship shifting. I realized that a relationship thrives when both people are equally invested, and somewhere along the way, that connection didn’t feel the same. It was a difficult decision, but one made with respect and understanding which was needed,” Bopanna told ETimes.
“This was a tough decision, but it was something that had to happen. I don’t hold any blame or hard feelings, even if there’s been some confusion—I know clarity took time. Moving forward, I just ask for space and respect for both of us. I hope we can be supported as individuals as we move ahead in our own ways,” he added.
Jashwanth Bopanna and Akriti Negi won everyone’s hearts when they participated in Splitsvilla X5. In the show, their chemistry was widely loved by all.
However, rumours of trouble in their love life started late last year when netizens noticed that the two were not making joint public appearances. Later, fans also noticed that the duo unfollowed each other on Instagram.
