Indian Idol 15 continues to captivate audiences with its mesmerising performances, and the recent episode was no different. This weekend, the show celebrated the ‘Greatest Hits of Rajshri Films’, and it undoubtedly proved to be a particularly special one. The latest episode took viewers on a nostalgic journey through the world of Rajshri Films, featuring filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya and iconic actors Karisma Kapoor and Mohnish Bahl as special guests. In the episode, contestant Mysmme Bosu performed her rendition of Mhare Hiwda Mein Nache Mor from the classic film Hum Saath-Saath Hain, leaving the guests and audience spellbound.

The soulful performance takes Karisma Kapoor and Mohnish Bahl back in time to the days of filming this iconic song. Recalling these nostalgic moments and cherished memories, the actors shared their experience of shooting for the song. Karisma Kapoor also shared why filming for Mhare Hiwda Mein Nache Mor was not an easy task.

Deeply impressed by the performance, director Sooraj Barjatya shared an amusing anecdote, revealing his initial fear about Mohnish Bahl’s dance performance. He said, “You’ve done complete justice to the song. This song was made for Karisma Kapoor, but I was really stressed about Mohnish Bahl. The choreography was meant for all three couples, and after Hum Aapke Hain Koun, it was Mohnish’s turn to dance. Since our team choreographed it, we suggested excusing Mohnish as his character had to keep one hand down. So, he stepped back, and Tabu took over most of the dance. But Karisma made up for it beautifully with her effortless grace.”

Hearing this, Mohnish laughed and added, “The truth is, he was worried about me, but after seeing my dance, he started worrying about himself! That’s when he decided I should keep one hand behind my back (laughs). After filming the title song of Hum Saath Saath Hain, I dedicated an hour every day to rehearsals with Jay Masterji, and somehow, we managed to pull it off.”

Following this, the filmmaker asks Karisma Kapoor, “Lolo, do you remember the Mhare Hiwda Mein Nache Mor shoot? We were sitting on an elephant in the scorching Rajasthan heat! Once we got up there, we couldn’t come down because elephants don’t just squat on command. We were stuck—no water, nothing, because of the height. At one point, I thought, ‘If I faint, I faint!’ Meanwhile, Karisma and Tabu kept dancing.”

Karisma Kapoor, who gracefully carried the dance sequence, shared the challenges of filming the song atop an elephant in the scorching Rajasthan heat. She described, “It was quite tough. On screen, it looks like we are having the best time, and everything appears so grand and beautiful. But in reality, the elephant kept moving, and we had to sit there for almost 2–3 hours!”

Coming to Indian Idol 15, the music reality show drops a new episode every weekend at 8:30 PM on Sony TV. The show is judged by singers Shreya Ghoshal, Badshah and Vishal Dadlani.
