In a shocking and tragic incident, a 18-year-old girl, who was in a relationship with her neighbour, died by suicide a day before her wedding in Kerala’s Malappuram.
According to local media as reported by NDTV, the deceased girl, identified as Shaima Sinivar was in a relationship with her 19-year-old neighbour Sajeer. However, her family fixed her wedding somewhere else against her wish and engaged a week before the wedding.
Unhappy and upset with the decision, the girl hanged herself at her uncle’s home, where she lived after her father died, the report added.
Shaima reportedly informed about her relationship with Sajeer and her decision to marry him. However, the family refused and fixed her wedding somewhere else. Moments after Shaima died by suicide, Sajeer slit his wrist.
He was rushed to the hospital and is reportedly out of danger. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and started a probe, the report added.
