Shahid Kapoor is enjoying the successful run of his recent action thriller Deva. Helmed by Rosshan Andrrews and backed by Roy Kapur Films, it was released on the big screens on January 31. The film has received praise from cinephiles and Shahid’s performance is being appreciated. Now, Mira Kapoor has given a shout-out to Shahid and Deva crew. Mira re-shared a monochrome poster of the film and wrote, ‘Riveting’, She added, “Somehow you [Shahdi] are able to bring the madness, rage and vulnerability all into Dev! Proud of your craft! Killer Thriller!”
The post was attached to the track Marji Cha Malik from Deva in the background, which is composed by Jakes Bejoy and sung by Shreyas.
According to Sacnilk.com, Deva minted Rs 7.15 crore on its third day which takes the film’s total 3-day collection to Rs 19.05 crore.
Recently, before the release of Deva, Shahid conducted an Ask Me Anything session on X to interact with his fans and followers. During the session, he shared his first reaction when he read the climax of the film and said that he was “shocked post-climax. Found it very fresh.”
The story of Deva revolves around ACP Dev Ambre (Shahid Kapoor), an impulsive cop and womaniser who loses his memory while investigating the death of his best friend. The film is an adaptation of Rosshan’s 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, with certain changes to the storyline, particularly the climax twist. Apart from Shahid, Deva also features Pooja Hedge, Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait in key roles. Pooja Hegde plays Dev’s love interest, journalist Divya Sathaye.
Meanwhile, Shahid will be next seen in director Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming untitled action thriller film. Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film also features Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles. It will be released on the big screens in December this year. The film marks Shahid’s fourth collaboration with Bhardwaj after Kaminey, Rangoon and Haider.
