Delhi Assembly Election Results 2025: BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh, who is likely to be the Delhi Chief Minister, led the party’s win in New Delhi, defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal by more than 3,000 votes on Saturday.

Kejriwal took the lead against Verma in the early counting rounds, but by noon it was clear that Verma is the winner. As the results were declared, Verma was seen celebrating in the national capital.

There are six assembly seats in the New Delhi district, of which, two were won by AAP’s Parvesh Ratn from Patel Nagar and Virender Singh Kadian from Delhi Cantt.

The remaining four were clinched by BJP’s Shikha Roy from Greater Kailash, Parvesh Sahib Singh from New Delhi, Anil Kumar Sharma from RK Puram and Umang Bajaj from Rajinder Nagar.

Delhi’s legislative assembly comprises 70 constituencies, with 58 general seats and 12 reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), ensuring fair representation for all sections of society. The contest features candidates from major political parties like the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Indian National Congress (INC), alongside several independent candidates and regional parties.

Speaking to reporters after his win, Parvesh Sahib Singh said, “This government, which is going to be formed in Delhi, will bring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to Delhi. I give credit for this victory to PM Modi. I thank the people of Delhi. This is the victory of PM Modi and the people of Delhi.”

Parvesh Sahib Singh served two terms as an MP for West Delhi from BJP. In 2014, he was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha and re-elected in 2019 for the 17th Lok Sabha with the highest-ever margin of victory in the history of Delhi, a margin of 578,486 votes.

Roy, who pulled off an upset against AAP’s Saurabh Bharddwaj, is a 60-year-old advocate. She has done MA from Punjab University, and LLB from Department of Law, PU, Chandigarh.

Anil Kumar Sharma is 53 years old candidate from RK Puram against AAP’s Pramila Tokas by a margin of 14,453 votes. Sharma’s total assets amount to Rs 7.1 crore, while liabilities stand at Rs 70,835.

Umang Bajaj from Rajinder Nagar won against AAP’s Durgesh Pathak by margin of 1,231 votes, securing 46,671 votes.
