WAVES Summit Advisory Board Meet: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a virtual interaction session with global and Indian leaders during the WAVES Summit Advisory Board meeting.

The discussion centred on innovation, global leadership, India’s cultural and technological impact, and strategies to strengthen the country’s position on the global stage.

Taking to X, PM Modi shared a glimpse of the virtual interaction, saying that Advisory Board members reiterated their support and shared insight to further make India a global entertainment hub.

“Just concluded an extensive meeting of the Advisory Board of WAVES, the global summit that brings together the world of entertainment, creativity and culture. The members of the Advisory Board are eminent individuals from different walks of life, who not only reiterated their support but also shared valuable inputs on how to further enhance our efforts to make India a global entertainment hub,” PM Modi said.

The high-profile meeting featured actors Amitabh Bachchan, Diljit Dosanjh, Rajnikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Chiranjeevi, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, A. R. Rahman.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra Anand Mahindra, and other top professionals from India and the world were also part of the meeting.

WAVES Summit

The WAVES Summit, known for uniting thought leaders from diverse fields, seeks to promote cross-industry collaborations and accelerate India’s growth in the digital and creative economy.

WAVES 2025, organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was aimed at celebrating and enhancing India’s creative and media economy.

As part of the WAVES Summit, taking place from February 5 to 9, 2025, the Ministry is launching the Create in India Challenge, Season 1, featuring various “challenges” designed to encourage innovation and creativity.

The Summit has gathered industry leaders, stakeholders, and innovators from diverse fields. Originally, the Summit was planned to be held alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa in November, according to sources.
