Pragya Jaiswal, who is enjoying the success of Daaku Maharaj alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela, recently shared her experience of working with Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, she opened up about her first meetings with them, recalling how those moments left a lasting impression on her.
Pragya was part of a song alongside Salman Khan in Antim. She recalled, “When I met Salman sir, it was actually for the first time in my life, and it happened on set on the first day of shooting for Antim’s song sequence. That’s how I met him, and he was just the coolest, chillest, and sweetest person. He made me feel comfortable instantly. I remember being in the van for two hours, getting ready, feeling nervous about meeting him for the first time. I wanted to look a certain way — full saree, big hair, everything. But when I saw him, he was just sitting in his little tent outside his caravan, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, casually having his black coffee.
Pragya continued, “I was like, ‘Oh my god, he’s so handsome!’ Because, in real life, he is incredibly handsome. I was standing there in a saree. But we chatted for 5–10 minutes, and then he quickly changed. Within 10–15 minutes, we were already shooting the song. It was the craziest experience — meeting him for the first time and then suddenly jumping into a full romantic song sequence within minutes. It was surreal.”
Pragya Jaiswal worked with Akshay Kumar in Khel Khel Mein. Recalling her experience of working with the superstar, she said, “With Akshay Kumar sir, it was a completely different experience. I had actually met him a long time ago for a film meeting, but that project didn’t materialise.
This time, when I met him for Khel Khel Mein, it felt like meeting him for the first time all over again. We had our film reading at his office, where the whole team — including the actors, director, and producer — gathered. He’s such a fun person and a total prankster, so it didn’t take long to break the ice with him.”
Pragya said Akshay helped enhance her performance. “He makes you feel comfortable right away, saying things like, We’re going to have so much fun in this film, come on! He also helps with improvisation, suggesting lines like, You say this, then I’ll say that. He really enhances your performance, and I feel so lucky to have worked with him.”
