Ravindra Jadeja now joins the likes of Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh and Kapil Dev to have taken 600 wickets in international cricket.
The experienced all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja found himself amongst the elite Indian cricketers after picking up three wickets in the first ODI against England in Nagpur on Thursday.
The 36-year-old finished as the pick of the Indian bowlers after the first innings, where England were bundled out for 248. He finished with figures of 3/26 in 9 overs.
Following his performance, he now joins the likes of Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh and Kapil Dev to have taken 600 wickets in international cricket. He becomes the fourth spinner and fifth overall to the feat among Indian bowlers. Jadeja made an impact immediately after being introduced into the attack in the 15th over, extracting a sharp turn from the surface.
Jadeja made an impact as soon as he was brought into the attack as he was able to generate a significant turn off the surface. He went on to strike first by removing the experienced Joe Root with a quicker delivery crashing onto the pads. He followed it up with the wicket of the rising talent, Jacob Bethell in a similar fashion. He got his third by removing Adil Rashid as well.
Sl No | Player Name | Matches | Wickets |

2 | Ravichandran Ashwin | 287 | 765 |
3 | Harbhajan Singh | 365 | 707 |

5 | Ravindra Jadeja | 352 | 600 |
Amongst cricketers across different nationalities, Jadeja becomes the 26th cricketer to have taken 600 wickets across all three formats. He has taken 323 wickets in Tests, 220 in ODIs and 54 scalps in the T20I format as well.
Jadeja has grown to become the benchmark for what an all-rounder is meant to be. He can be a force to be reckoned with both batting and bowling-wise but also can also chip in on the field. Through the years, he has become one of India’s most important players in all three formats.
Jadeja decided to call time on his T20I career after India’s successful run in the 2024 T20 World Cup, retiring alongside fellow teammates, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Following the first innings, India’s batting started off poorly with the opening pair being dismissed cheaply but Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel’s knocks saw the side being put in a good position, setting up for the win. He will hope that he can continue to bring similar performances as India gear up for the highly-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 which they will play in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
