Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was present at the fabled stadium in Mumbai to bear witness to the series curtain call. The 44-year-old also shared a couple of words with Suryakumar Yadav and Jos Buttler, the skippers of the respective sides ahead of the game.
Bollywood star Aamir Khan was also in attendance at the Wankhede to watch the series-ender.
Infosys chief Narayana Murthy, who made headlines with his controversial statement recently over extended work hours, also made his way to the stadium.
India held an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series thanks to their back-to-back wins in the opening games of the series at Kolkata and Chennai respectively before going down to the tourist at Rajkot in the third iteration of the series. However, India came back to clinch the series with a win in the fourth game.
Abhishek Sharma was in swashbuckling form as he smashed the second-fastest century by an Indian in T2OIs with a 37-ball ton against the English bowling attack. The southpaw was in imperial touch and dispatched the incoming deliveries all around the park at break-neck speed to pile on the run tally.
