The World Padel League (WPL) officially announced Sohail Khan Entertainment as the owner of Team Panthers last month. Scheduled from February 5 to 8 at the Nesco Center in Mumbai, the league will see top-tier global padel talent from across India coming together to showcase the electrifying sport. Ahead of the league, Sohail’s brother and superstar Salman Khan poured in heartfelt wishes for his younger one.

Sohail Khan Entertainment, a leading name in the film and events industry, is credited for backing blockbuster movies such as Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, Jai Ho, Freaky Ali and Partner. Further, it is also known for organising over 1,000 large-scale events like the Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards. Beyond the film world, it also managed to build an impressive portfolio in the sports industry, organising ventures like the Celebrity Cricket League and Team Mumbai Heroes.

Talking about the ongoing league, Sohail Khan recently expressed his excitement in a statement, “The growth of padel in India is quite impressive, with several of our industry peers also playing the sport regularly. It’s a sport that fosters a sense of community, and with the World Padel League making its debut in India, it will undoubtedly elevate the sport to a whole new level. Team Panthers has got some exciting talent from across the globe, and we are looking forward to a successful edition ahead!” The top two teams of the sport will face off each other in the finals on February 8.

Speaking of Salman Khan, the actor is currently busy filming for his most anticipated project Sikandar. Helmed by AR Murugadoss, credited for films like Ghajini and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, Salman’s film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi and Sathyaraj in significant roles. Set to hit the big screens on Eid 2025, the action drama is bankrolled by Sajid Naidadwala. Anjini Dhawan, Varun Dhawan’s niece, has also confirmed her role in the film.
