Former Delhi Commission for Women chairperson and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal on Saturday lashed out at outgoing Delhi CM Atishi for celebrating her poll victory despite the party suffered a debacle in the Delhi assembly elections.

While sharing a video of Atishi on her social media platform X, Maliwal said, “What kind of shamelessness is this? The party lost, all the big leaders lost and Atishi Marlena is celebrating like this?”

In the video, the outgoing chief minister, who won the Kalkaji assembly seat by a margin of 3,521 votes defeating BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri, was seen dancing with her supporters. Atishi is among a few AAP ministers and senior leaders who won the elections as most of the party big guns have lost including AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

The Rajya Sabha MP, once a close associate of Kejriwal, has emerged as one of his most vocal critics in recent times. Maliwal has publicly expressed her disillusionment with Kejriwal’s leadership and his party’s direction.

Earlier today, Maliwal called out on the former CM over his “extreme arrogance” and asserted that the national capital was in shambles as the water that is reaching households is dirty.

Further, her social media post had also gone viral on the social media. Maliwal had shared an image featuring a painting depicting the ‘cheerharan’ (disrobing) of Draupadi from Mahabharata.

Delhi Election Results 2025

The BJP is set to form a government in Delhi for the first time since 1998, with the saffron party winning 48 of the 70 assembly seats while AAP secured 22 seats. This victory extended the BJP’s influence in Delhi and marked a significant blow to the AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, the Congress failed to open its account in the Delhi polls. The Delhi Legislative Assembly comprises 70 seats, and political parties need to secure at least 36 seats to form a government.
