Ajith Kumar is one of the most iconic actors in Tamil cinema. In a career spanning over 35 years, the actor has been part of more than 60 movies. On February 6, his action thriller Vidaamuyarchi hit the theatres, achieving a remarkable feat at the box office. The film buffs are already mesmerised by Ajith Kumar’s action scenes in the Tamil movie.
The opening day box-office collection of Vidaamuyarchi reveals the audience’s love for the South star. As per a report by Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 22 crore at the domestic market on its first day of release. Directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions, the film stars Ajith Kumar opposite Trisha Krishnan. Meanwhile, Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra are also seen in key roles.

Valimai: The top place in the list is secured by Valimai. As per Sacnilk’s report, the film, directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor earned Rs. 29.60 crore on its debut day.
Vidaamuyarchi: The action thriller claimed the second-best opener spot in the actor’s filmography. Despite it being a niche appeal film, Vidaamuyarchi got a banger opening on its release day.
Thunivu: The next spot is secured by Ajith Kumar’s 2023 release, Thunivu, which faced a major clash with Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu. The action-thriller amassed an amount of Rs 21.1 crore on its first day of release in Tamil Nadu.
Viswasam: Ajith Kumar’s drama film, released in 2019, featuring Nayanthara in the lead, is in fourth position. It had a solid opening with a box-office collection of Rs 15.90 crore in Tamil Nadu.
Vivegam: Another film which has been counted in the list of Ajith’s top five biggest openers in Tamil Nadu is Vivegam. The film, directed by Siva, was released in 2017. It had also earned Rs. 15.90 crore on its debut day.
There are several other Ajith films which followed the top 5 and became remarkable hits at the box office.
Looking ahead, Ajith Kumar has another film named Good Bad Ugly in his pipeline for 2025. It will hit the theatres on April 10th.
