Karan Veer Mehra says Sushant Singh Rajput always cheered for him and stood by him.

Karan Veer Mehra, who worked with Sushant Singh Rajput in Pavitra Rishta, has opened up about the actor’s death in an emotional interview. Recently, the Bigg Boss 18 winner was speaking to Pinkvilla when he recalled his fond memories with SSR. Karan mentioned that Sushant always used to cheer him up and stood by him during his low.
“I really miss him. I wish he was here to see this because he vouched for me that I’m talented to be here and taste the success. In my lowest phase, he has been there to pick me up and tell me, ‘You are better than me.’ When he used to say this, I used to think how he could say this. He is such a big star, and how can he call me better than him? To boost me, to give that energy behind me,” Karan Veer Mehra said.
Karan further called Sushant’s death “heartbreaking” and mentioned that he will always regret not being by his side during his last moments. “I don’t know how to react because, till date, we don’t have closure to that. I only repent and curse myself that I wasn’t there for him. It would have taken a moment to tell him, ‘Kamini, mai aara hu.’ I couldn’t do that. It just didn’t happen,” he added.
“I’ll take to the grave that I couldn’t do it for him because he was always there for me,” Karan stated.
Last month, Karan Veer Mehra also marked the birthday of the late actor with a heartfelt Instagram story. Sharing a throwback photo, Karan wrote that he wishes Sushant were around. “I wish you were here to see this bhai,” he had written.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020. While some suspected to be a case of death by suicide, others had alleged foul play. His sister has been fighting for justice ever since.
