Karnataka Minister Struggles To Write In Kannada, Gets Trolled As Video Goes Viral

Karnataka Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi faced criticism for struggling to write in Kannada. The Karnataka BJP shared the video, sparking criticism of CM Siddaramaiah’s choices.

Karnataka Minister for Kannada and Culture, Shivaraj Tangadagi, drew criticism for struggling to write in Kannada language during an event in Koppal district.

This video which shows him struggling to write in the regional language was shared on social media platform X by Karnataka BJP also. The video has now gone viral.

It happened when Tangadagi tried to write ‘shubhavagali’, which means best of luck in Kannada, during his visit to an anganvadi (a rural child care centre) in the district’s Karatagi village.

The minister came under the target of netizens who criticised him and made fun of him struggle for being unable to write a “simple word” in Kannada. The X users also hit out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for “choosing and selecting such ministers.”

Sharing the video on X, Karnataka BJP wrote, “Kannada is being suppressed by the Kannaramaiah government.” “On one side is Madhu Bangarappa who cannot read and write in Kannada, other side is S Tangadagi, Minister for Kannada and Culture, who is struggling to write a simple word.”

Hailing from Bagalkot, Tangadagi is a three-time Kanakagiri MLA. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Science graduate.

It is to be noted that Tangadagi struggled while writing the word but he didn’t write it wrong. He became the second minister after Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa to be trolled for his lack of knowledge of Kannada.

Earlier in November 2024, the Education Minister was drew flak over his reaction to a student’s remark that he didn’t know Kannada.
