Delhi election results: The eight seats are Bawana, Narela, Badli, Adarsh Nagar, Wazirpur, Model Town, Rohini and Shakur Basti

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed a clean saffron sweep on the eight seats in the North Delhi district, decimating the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress in the assembly elections.
The eight seats are Bawana, Narela, Badli, Adarsh Nagar, Wazirpur, Model Town, Rohini and Shakur Basti.
While the BJP won 48 of the 70 seats in the Delhi elections, ending its 27-year drought in the capital, the incumbent AAP could hold onto only 22.
Experts say the BJP effectively spread its message of development with the help of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), promised freebies and capitalised on the anger against the AAP.
The AAP meanwhile failed to prevent the losses owing to anti-incumbency, Congress factor, corruption allegations, among others.

All you need to know about the constituencies and the fight:
- Bawana: Ravinder Indraj Singh of the BJP won against Jai Bhagwan Upkar of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Jai Bhagwan had won the seat defeating Ravinder Kumar of BJP. In 2015, Ved Parkash of the AAP had won defeating Gugan Singh of the BJP.
- Nerela: Raj Karan Khatri (BJP) defeated AAP’s Sharad Kumar. In the 2020 Delhi assembly elections, Sharad Kumar had defeated Neel Daman Khatri (BJP). In the 2015 elections, too, Sharad Kumar had defeated Khatri.
- Badli: Aahir Deepak Chaudharyy (BJP) defeated AAP’s Ajesh Yadav. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Yadav of AAP had defeated Vijay Kumar Bhagat of BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, too, Yadav had won against Devender Yadav of INC.
- Adarsh Nagar: Raj Kumar Bhatia of BJP defeated Mukesh Kumar Goel of AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Pawan Sharma of AAP won in this seat defeating Raj Kumar Bhatia of BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Pawan Kumar Sharma had defeated Ram Kishan Singhal of BJP.
- Wazirpur: Poonam Sharma of the BJP defeated Rajesh Gupta (AAP). In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Gupta had defeated Dr Mahender Nagpal of BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, too, Gupta had defeated Nagpal.
- Model Town: Ashok Goel of the BJP defeated Akhilesh Pati Tripathi of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Akhilesh Pati Tripathi of the AAP won defeated Kapil Mishra of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Tripathi won this seat, defeating Vivek Garg of the BJP.
- Rohini: Vijender Gupta of the BJP defeated Pardeep Mittal of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Vijender Gupta had won this seat, defeating Rajesh Nama Bansiwala of AAP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Gupta had won, defeating C L Gupta Advocate of the AAP.
- Shakur Basti: Karnail Singh of the BJP defeated Satyendar Jain of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Satyendar Jain of the AAP had won, defeating Dr SC Vats of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, too, Satyendar Jain had defeated S C Vats.
