Schools in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Sultanpur are closed until February 5 due to Mahakumbh Mela 2025 and will reopen on February 6.

The Mahakumbh Mela 2025 is being held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, drawing millions of devotees from across the country. To ensure the safety and comfort of children amid the large crowds, schools in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Sultanpur have been closed until February 5, 2025. They will reopen on February 6 (Thursday). Students can check with their schools for any updates on holidays.
Schools in these districts have been shut since February 3 due to the Amrit Snan at Mahakumbh. The huge gathering in Prayagraj and nearby areas led authorities to declare school holidays for safety reasons.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, also called the festival of the sacred pitcher, is a major event in Hindu tradition. It is the world’s largest religious gathering, where ascetics, saints, sadhus, sadhvis, kalpvasis, and pilgrims from all walks of life come together.
The event is full of rituals, but the most important one is the bathing ceremony. At the Triveni Sangam, millions of people gather to take part in this sacred bath, which is believed to purify them.
Delhi Schools Closed Today Due To Voting
Voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections started at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm. The results will be announced on Saturday, February 8. On this day, many places in Delhi will be closed, while some will stay open.
All schools and colleges, both public and private, will be closed because many are being used as polling stations.
This closure is meant to make sure voting goes smoothly without any problems. Schools and colleges being used for voting might also be closed a day before the election, as is usually the case.

Jamia Millia Islamia has announced a two-day holiday for its Middle School because of the elections. Both students and staff will have leave on February 4 and 5 to help with election preparations. The school premises will be given to the authorities for polling arrangements.
