Williams alleges that they were allowed in without paying, while Indians were left waiting.
Two men from Scotland have accused a nightclub in Goa of racism against Indians. They shared a video claiming that they were given free entry, while locals were made to wait in line. The video has gone viral on Instagram, raising debate among users.
Ryan Williams, who describes himself as a Korean-origin man living in Scotland, posted the video with the caption “Racist Nightclub in Goa.” He tagged his friend, Robin Alderslowe, a Scottish man known for playing the bagpipes.
In the video, Williams and Alderslowe were seen entering a nightclub while a queue of people waited outside. Williams alleged they were allowed in without paying, while Indians were left waiting. The clip also showed Alderslowe inside the club, playing the bagpipes in his traditional Scottish attire.
Mixed Reactions on Social Media
The video quickly gained attention, with many sharing their views. Some were outraged by the alleged discrimination, while others defended the nightclub’s policy.
One user commented, “As an Indian, I have seen that many Indian men lack civic sense and consent. Even when they travel abroad, very few behave well. Maybe that’s why entry is restricted.”
Another person responded, “Why even go there?” expressing frustration over the situation.
A Goan joined the discussion, saying, “We treat foreigners differently because of their behaviour. Many Indians think spending extra money gives them the right to do whatever they want. You have no idea how many locals have been killed by drunk reckless driving. We don’t want that.”
Another user pointed out that this problem was not just limited to India. “It’s sad that this happens in other places too. A few bad apples give many respectful Indians a bad name.”
Nightclub Policies Under Scrutiny
This was not the first time nightclubs in Goa were accused of discriminating against Indian guests. Some clubs enforce entry restrictions based on gender, group size, and nationality. Many argue this is done to maintain a safe environment, while others see it as unfair treatment of locals.
The nightclub in question has yet to release a statement addressing the claims.
