Kaveri Kapur, daughter of renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, is all set to make her acting debut with the upcoming romantic drama Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story. Helmed by Kunal Kohli, known for Hum Tum and Fanaa, the film also features Vardhan Puri, grandson of the late legendary actor Amrish Puri. It will be streaming on the OTT giant Disney+ Hotstar from February 11.
On Monday, the makers dropped the first look poster on Instagram and captioned it, “Some love stories are meant to be… no matter the time, no matter the distance. #BobbyAurRishiKiLoveStory – streaming from 11th Feb.”
In the first look poster, Kaveri, clad in a blue top, red jacket and fringe, is putting her head on her co-star Vardhan Puri’s shoulder, dressed in a grey T-shirt and striped white shirt. They’re sitting against a tree, with the text of the title spread across the picture.
Beaming with joy, Suchitra expressed her happiness about her daughter’s acting debut on Instagram. Sharing the poster of the film, she wrote, “OMG my baby girl @kaverikapur . So so soooo proud of you.”
Talking about his role in the film, Vardhan, playing Rishi, said, “Rishi is a boy full of masti, a boy with a pounding heart and a great sense of humour. He is both entertaining and sympathetic and he will make you giggle laugh and cry. I wish I had a best friend like him,” quoted Live India.
Furthermore, sharing his experience working in the film, he added, “What makes this love story so fascinating is that it’s very Kunal Kohli-esque. It’s a breath of fresh air because you’re seeing so many dramatic stories, so much violence and action and I’ve been craving a great emotional rom-com filled with romance.”
Meanwhile, Kaveri is the daughter of Shekhar Kapur and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, who tied the knot in 1999. However, the duo called off their marriage in 2007.
