The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recorded a stunning victory in the Delhi assembly polls as results came in on Saturday, snatching power in the national capital after about three decades and unseating the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The South West Delhi district epitomised the BJP’s dominance as it swept all seven assembly constituencies here, blanking AAP and the Congress.
For the BJP, Pankaj Kumar Singh bagged the Vikaspuri seat, Pawan Sharma won in Uttam Nagar, Sandeep Sehrawat emerged victorious in Matiala, Kuldeep Solanki triumphed in Palam, Kailash Gahlot netted Bijwasan, Parduymn Singh Rajput came out ahead in Dwarka, and Neelam Pahalwan prevailed in Najafgarh.

Elections for the 70 seats of the Delhi assembly were held on February 5. A voter turnout of over 60 per cent was recorded in the single-phase polls.
With the BJP emerging as the clear winner, all eyes are now on who the next chief minister of Delhi will be.
