Israel’s Mossad had conducted one of the most daring operations in the history to use pagers as explosives against Hezbollah militants.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gifted US President Donald Trump with a “golden pager” during their meeting at the White House, in an apparent reference to the deadly attack against the Hezbollah militants by Mossad using the device last year.
The pictures that surfaced online, the pager was mounted on a tree trunk and the message read, “Press with both hands”.
“To President Donald J. Trump, Our greatest friend and greatest ally. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” the golden plaque read in black letter.
Trump reportedly told Netanyahu upon receiving the pager, “that was a great operation”, according to reports.

Trump presented a return gift to Netanyahu in which he gave a signed picture of the two leaders. “To Bibi, A great leader!” the picture shared by the Israeli Prime Minister’s son, Yair Netanyahu, read.
In a historic and one of the most daring operations, Israel’s spy agency Mossad triggered the attack on September 17 last year in which pagers all over Lebanon started beeping as they received the same message all at once. The devices exploded, killing many and also leaving several injured.
The next day, Mossad activated walkie-talkies, which also also filled with explosives. Some of them went off at the funerals of around 30 people who were killed in the pager attack.
The war between Israel and Hezbollah ended by November last year after a ceasefire.
