Yami Gautam who took a break from films after welcoming her son in May last year is all set to return to movies with Dhoom Dhaam. The adventure drama film starring Yami and Pratik Gandhi in lead roles will be released on Netflix on Valentine’s Day. As shown in the trailer, the upcoming movie revolves around a newly married couple whose wedding night spirals into unexpected chaos after a doorbell. Ahead of its premiere on February 14, the two actors shared their excitement for it.

The script of ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ flips the idea of “happily ever after” as Koyal, a carefree woman, ties the knot with Veer (played by Pratik Gandhi), a timid and animal-loving veterinarian. During a conversation with ANI, Yami Gautam talked about Dhoom Dhaam and her character Koyal in the film.

Sharing her thoughts on the story, she said, “It is about one night and how it becomes unforgettable. There is fun, adventure and these two newlyweds get a chance to know each other.” Her co-star Pratik Gandhi who plays Veer in Dhoom Dhaam also joined to say that he finds the plot ‘Very intriguing’. His character never thought that he would experience such an adventure after marriage. Moreover, as the story unfolds, he unravels new traits in his partner.

Talking about Koyal, Yami said that it’s a reflection of many real-life characters. She also shared the inspiration behind the ‘mummy sister’ seen in the trailer. She said that her sister used to say this during arguments instead of using cuss words. Thus, she found it interesting and thought of using it.

Yami added, “Koyal defies the usual ‘bride’ stereotypes without being brash or bullish or anything you have watched on screen before. I am sure a lot of girls today will connect with her.”

The trailer released in January shows Yami delivering punches and kicks, showcasing a fierce side, while Pratik appears bewildered as the events unfold. Reacting to what she found most challenging, the Uri actress said that it was difficult for her to shoot at night with complete energy.

Directed by Rishab Seth, Dhoom Dhaam also features Eijaz Khan and Pavitra Sarkar. In conclusion, Yami said, “This film is a wild, unpredictable ride and I can’t wait for audiences to join us on this journey on Netflix this Valentine’s Day.”
